#1 Kenlowe fan removal

Post by PhilBell » Tue Feb 28, 2023 8:31 pm

Any tips on removing a Kenlowe fan? My aftermarket aluminium radiator is weeping somewhere top right as viewed from the driver's seat. It looks otherwise in excellent condition and the car keeps its cool in all conditions so I plan to find an expert TiG specialist who can repair it, but first the Kenlowe needs to come off and the fastenings through the matrix don't look like they're meant to be undone. So before I reach for the angle grinder...

Fastenings which run through the matrix often have a ratchet type effect. A use once only style of fixing.
So think that you will have to (carefully) cut them off.

It’s a bit like a tie wrap - use once only.
It has been known for these straps to wear through the radiator matrix and are often considered to be a poor design.
