#1 S1 fhc finisher above rear window

Post by phoenix » Mon Jun 12, 2023 3:09 pm

Just received the finisher for above rear window and was surprised it is plastic. Also there dose not seem to be any way of attaching
it. Any ideas you guys.

You mean the two supposedly chromed trim finishers for the rear hatch window? :wow:
That's a new downward move...

It should be chrome plate steel ( or brass) and fits into very small grooves in the rubber seal. As does the lower surround. Then the 2 small chrome trim pieces cover the joins.

If I found it to be supplied in plastic I would send it back. Although good nick originals are hard to find.

I think you must mean the interior trim to the tailgate, if so yes they are now plastic although the originals were a form of carboard . the top piece is covered in vinyl with the vinyl lower edge wrapped under the window rubber seal before fitting the glass and then the trim is glued to the door.
