Seals between scuttle and chrome wiper-bosses ?

I've seen threads relating to the use of a rubber (oval ?) gasket that to seal the chrome wiper bosses against the paintwork of the scuttle on the Series 3 cars, but never any confirmation that this was possible or original on the Series 1 (and/or Series 2) cars.



Has anyone any experience of this, please, and how did they do it, and with what parts ?

I'm loathe to tighten up the bezels against my new paint unless it's unavoidable

I can see a seal "8656" shown in the J30 parts list, and listed on Barratts

Don’t apologies as it’ll be something I’ll need to fit and for someone else to answer the question before I’ve even realised they are needed is very beneficial.

Make sure the ones you buy, SNG's may have the characteristic, have a small lip around the perimeter. That side up of course with the lip outside the bezel.
Remove-Wiper, nut, bezel, install seal, reverse.
