Trafficator switch
#1 Trafficator switch
Hopefully someone can assist me in my quest...
There is a part missing from my original switch that would operate the dash indicators. Would someone have any pictures of the missing part as i hope to reproduce it and get my switch back in operation.
I made the error of purchasing a new switch which does not fit the die cast housing, so I am hoping to repair the old switch...
Thank you in advance,
Mike

Neat video, but for the later version of the switch (part # C21710). Mine is a part # C16069
I'm assuming that a proper (original) Lucas C21710 would fit in place of the C16069?

That is it! So it looks like two brass "wings" belong on the upper switch...

Correct.
Unfortunately, this one does not fit into the die cast housing that goes over top...

SNGB also lists C25254 for 4.2 E Type which looks like it’s for later cars. My 1965 (early) 4.2 has the C21710 type original version.

Another article to compare:

Are you certain your stalk is correct to the car and not an adapted S Type for example?

#13 Re: Trafficator switch
I am assuming it is correct as it is dated 10/62 which is the month of manufacture of the car.
100% sure? No...this car had a lot of interesting repairs...
However the switch is not like the link just sent in post #12, it is like the one in post #6.
Thanks,
Mike

Fashioned a couple of "wings" out of stainless steel. I now have ground for the dash indicator wires, so the should work now.
