Interior, tips please

I now come to an area I know I'm not very good at. Past results have been good and bad. So any help is appreciated. Some of it looks easy, glue on, press on, fixed. But I want to do it right...

Yesterday a 34kg package arrived from vendor , looks good, all red, beige ceiling. As I see it, doing the entire interior on my car involves these categories:
1. Things that can just be "clipped" on/put in, like new door cards, carpets
2. Things that have to be installed/trimmed on parts that are moveable
3. Things that have to be installed/trimmed on the car itself

I think I can handle 1., and I have a good local trimmer for 2. (center console, seats, cantrails etc). But since the car won't move, I have to do 3. myself. That means e.g. sills, headlining, wheel arch covers etc. I have the book E-Type Jaguar Restoration Manual by David Barzilay, and it's excellent, also the 40 pages on how to trim the interior. But...it's an OTS, so several areas aren't covered (pun intended)

So based on that book, I think I can do sills, it's explained very well. But I may benefit from tips/help/links on:
-Headlining/sunvisors
-Wheel arch covers
-Rear door
-Other FHC-only issues
-Glue. I ordered glue, spray and ordinary, but didn't get any, maybe transportation issue. Can I just buy in hardware store?
-Other tips?

OK of an OTS but lots apply to your car or any other. Search through for such as “trim” and you’ll find very useful guides as to it can be done.

Thanks Geoff and Tim, yes combined that should do most of it.

Still need the headliner-advice for an S1 if available. Chris Vine does OTS, Chris Rooke uses later thicker one piece easy-to-handle headliner. I have bought the early thin material

I've started on the headliner ( ), and just found out I'm missing something.

That black thing that I've drawn red around, one per side, I don't have them. Can't see them in parts book.

About them:
-what are they called?
-part #? Available?
-riveted or screwed?
-used for what? I would guess rear part of headliner?

That's the hatch apperture edge trim. I think mine was rivetted in a few places. The sequence of fitting looks problematic in your picture. The headlining edge needs to be tucked in above the cantrail moulding , then the curtain also needs to be tucked in there & the rear edge hooked onto the serrated teeth first, then the hatch edge trim pushed in above the serrated teeth. That's the way I did it.

Allrand, the picture is not my car, and I agree there's something wrong with the process (boldly stated by someone that hasn't finished it yet ;-))

Those black metal things with serrated teeth, what are they called? Any ideas? Gotta see if I can buy them

I think they are items BD20266 & 20267.

They are called Trim Panel rear above cant rail RH & LH.

They are rivetted on with, I think, 3/32" diameter rivets. Definitely not the more commonly used 1/8" ones.

I covered mine with a piece of scrim foam to smooth out the contours a bit better.

My car is old enough to have a 2" wide plastic thingy in interior colour that runs all the way around the rear hatch opening. I believe later cars had vinyl glued on instead.
That plastic thingy, where does it go when meeting headline grippers in front, rear side casing on the sides and aluminum plate at the rear? What is on top, is the thingy tucked in under all those or vice versa? Looking at pictures online, I seem to see both solutions
