Well, I've had my 1963 E Type since I was a junior in college, 1970, so that is 54 years. Actually, been a very solid and reliable car. Never had to have been towed home, yet anyway. Had the engine out 3 times, twice when I put in a fully synchro transmission from a '66 model (so yes you can put a later trans in the older car, but it takes some machining to get the starter to engage), and the other in 1989 when I took the engine out to put in new rings, grind the valves, etc.... The car looks pretty good, but my real problem is more complicated, and I will explain in a longer post that I will write later today.
So.... glad to be a part of the group. Been in the UK several times, most recently in June of this year when we started in London and the went to Southhampton for a cruise around Scotland. Loved it.

Welcome to the best place for all things E Type. How great to have had your car so long and with relatively little trouble. Though it sounds like you’ve got something serious to talk about.
Please click on your user name (top right) then you can add your name and car type to your signature. It’s much nicer to call you by a name and when people respond they can see which series and how to form their answers. You could put it as 63, 3.8 (FHC or OTS?) with synchro box.
There is a lot of knowledge, help and advice on the forum. The search function is pretty good, though searching for words like “oil” makes it sulk. You can search within results to gradually fine down the answers.
For posting photos quite a lot of us use Imgur viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19527
You don’t have to worry about size of images as it automatically adjusts to the forum requirements.
We will wait to hear your complicated problem and hopefully one or two of the wise can help you.
Geoff

Sorry, don't see where I can add my signature line. I see yours though. Perhaps I have to have a few posts before that item shows up.

Hi Jagman1950, at the top right click on your user name, then click profile in the drop down menu.
At the bottom of the profile page on the left side it says "Signature" you add your name and car model here.
It does not need a number of posts, it should be visible straight away.
regards
