#1 The Perfect Couple E Type

Post by 44DHR » Thu Sep 19, 2024 3:10 pm

There is a Netflix drama called “The Perfect Couple”, currently Number 1, (19th September 2024), in the TV Programmes about a very rich family in Nantucket involved in a murder mystery. One of the cars featured is a red Series 1 Jaguar E type coupe which seems to be the family’s regular driving hack and is driven enthusiastically. It is interesting as it is UK registered and right hand drive. The registration is SYL 307F, so presumably a late 1967 4.2 litre Coupe. Interestingly the bonnet central motif bar has been removed.
I have search on the UK “International Jaguar E-Type Register, but can’t see it on there. The “YL” registration is a Yorkshire registration.
I just wondered what the story was behind how this UK car ended up in the US ?
Regards,
Dave
P.S. the still image is from part 4 of the 6 episodes. I would also sort that third wiper position !

How intriguing it is to notice this element in "The Perfect Couple"! Seeing vintage vehicles like the E-Type emerge in contemporary dramas is always fascinating, especially when their surprising history are revealed. An additional degree of mystery is added by the UK registration; perhaps the family has British ancestry? You also bring up the missing bonnet motif, which is interesting because it alters the design! Hopefully, the show will reveal more about the car's voyage! Fantastic capture, Dave!

It’s surprising how much difference that bar makes to the look.
