HD8 Carb Body Guide Screws

Hi everyone,
Just had carbs returned from Burlen and they have fitted x-head screws to the carburettor body, damper guide brackets
I'm struggling to locate an outlet for the original 3 slotted screws or the exact size. Any help greatly received.

I have the brass guide brackets, thankfully.

Obviously they are of the opinion that there is no functional difference vs the original fitment.

But I too would want to use the original brass guides as they seem a better solution in terms of corrosion resistance and friction properties, so I would just use the original guides with the new screws.

Yes, this is what I have done temporarily but the x-head screws sit proud and look terrible tbh.
I’ve emailed Burlen but thought I’d try and purchase sooner as I’m refitting this weekend.

I have been here recently with some SU 175's, as far as I recall they are the same threads as the butterfly screws and these were also split ends.
They are possibly 1/8 BSW, but what I do remember is they were countersunk at 30 degrees not 45. Which might explain why they fit nicely home.

Burlen replied this morning and say they only manufacture X-head screws now.
They very kindly offered to send out some original used and slotted screws (split ends) that no doubt are slotted butterfly screws. Change in countersunk angles does explain why they sit proud, and out of place.
