Inside Lights

I have a doubt about inside lights. I made a photo.
The speedometer light seems like a joke, in left hand version the only one light thet shows speed after 120 km/h. The console lights are all different, in my case. Legend strip is darkness (like Prince Lucas).
Are these correct? Can I fix them?
Is the same with your cars too?

Hi Giovanni,

The four central dials plus the speedo and rev counter should all illuminate green on your model car. The legend strip under the four dials should also light up. They all turn on when the side light switch is turned on and the Panel switch is set to either the dim or bright setting. The legend strip should just illuminate and not have a dim bright setting.

There are three bulbs that illuminate the legend strip and a single bulb in each of the central dials. The two larger speedo and rev counter dials have two bulbs in each.

Some of your bulb may have blown. However, the usual cause if being too dim is due to the colour filters inside each dial. With age they blacken (burn) and reduce the light. The short term fix is to crack open the filter - remove the bulb and, using a small screwdriver, carefully poke it down the bulb hole and break off the filter. It will fall to the bottom of the dial not cause an issue but will let more (white) light through.

The proper fix is to remove each dial and strip it down to replace or just remove the filter.

I have coloured LED bulbs that work well, they dim also. Legend strips can be a bit hit or miss as the light doesn’t travel well along Perspex.

3.8 cars have blue filters on the gauges. When I got my car, most of the gauges were showing white light since the filters had disintegrated. I fitted blue LEDs as per the picture below.

A lister on Jag-Lovers developed a dynamic LED based lighting system for his dash panel. Multi coloured lighting linked to the gauges such that (for example) the temperature gauge turned red when the gauge indicated overheating.

Others have fitted short strips of LEDs inside each gauge. Simple to remove the face bezel and glass, clean out the inside, and glue a strip to the case.

Thanks for the replies.
I ordered two bulb sockets for speedo and revcounter because I only have one for each. I ordered also the plastic green (the one for the legend strip) which I'll try to cut and put in the holes to restore original condition, otherwise I'll use the green lamps.
I like the idea of ​​the multi-colored lamps that vary according to each indicator.
