#1 Headlights
I am replacing the headlights on my 68 1.5. The original fitment was the 75 / 60w sealed beam units. These were replaced early in its life with the superb Cibie Biodes, but these have now faded in the reflector division, so I've been trying to find replacement H4 units. The problem is that the ones I've tried are different in the area of the 3 "keys" that fit into the housing recesses. The originals, and the Biodes had the glass wrapping around the reflector, and those keys were moulded into the glass. All the recent ones I've tried have the glass set unto the reflector, and the keys are bent metal strips. Problem is, they are not a tight fit in the recesses, and the units are loose even when I tighten the clamping ring. I cant imagine that no one else has found this, in fact it cant be exclusive to Jaguar even, so any thoughts and solutions please? TIA.

I've come across this sort of thing in the past and solved by packing the headlamp ring with something (cardboard or similar) to tighten the headlamp in the ring.

Yes I've been able to pack the tags out to firm up, but that shouldn't be the solution!
