Braided Fuel Lines

Hi,
When do you replace the braided fuel lines?
You can’t see the condition of the rubber as it is hidden inside the stainless steel braiding.

Which braided fuel line and where? My fuel lines are solid or one ‘clear’ line up to the carbs from the fuel filter.

I would replace braided rubber based lines at no more than 10 years old, regardless of mileage. And if you have no idea how old it is, I would argue for replacement.

There does exist stainless braided line with nylon or PTFE based interior hose (such as Aeromotive) that should last for decades if there is no mechanical damage.

FWIW I no longer use braided rubber lines due to the unseen deterioration of the inner rubber portion. I just use a quality modern fuel hose and replace it every 5-8 years.

On my E-type specifically, it has the factory nylon lines from tank to pump, aftermarket CuNiFer metal pipe up to the fuel filter, then a short length of rubber hose to the fuel rail for the carbs.

I have the SNG stainless steel braided fuel return pipes on my V12, they are said to be suitable for E5 & E10.
I just wondered what people’s thoughts were regarding lifespan.
