2 post v Scissor lift
#21 Re: 2 post v Scissor lift
I'd love a 4 post with a jacking beam, but they are at least 50% more expensive. They both have their advantages and disadvantages I suppose.

Plenty second hand....as mine in the photo.....even cheaper are 3 phase lifts then just convert to single....as a new member please try to add your name and car model to you signature area...you can just reply to posts without quote copying the previous post as it takes up server space.....there are quite a few 4 post that are reasonably priced...jacking beam you can use a scissor jack and length of steel.....Steve

Thanks - I've updated my signature. I'll keep a lookout for used options too, although haven't found many as yet. By the time I've added the cost of hiring a van, dismantling and transporting, plus the risk of it not working, it would have to be a very good deal! If anyone reading this knows of one, please let me know.

Thanks for the confirmation of the width very much appreciated. I think I might be pushing it a little on height. It really will be so tall its pretty much up against the slates. I need to measure really accurately. However, it does seem like the posts are taller on their inner edge compared to their outer edge which might give me a few more mm. Total height on the drawing is shown as 2860, so I assume that is the inner height. I don't suppose you can do one more measurement for me? The height difference between the inner and outer of the columns. It really is that close.
I definitely owe you a beer!
