Bought my radiomobile years ago off ebay, gutted the inside sticking the tuning needle in place behind the glass and fitted a cheap but adequate stereo amp inside. Which is powered on by the LH knob and volume by the RH knob via some toothed wheels and toothed rubber belt joining them. For many years i had an iPod touch wired in to the amp which sat in the ashtray with the hinged chrome part removed. This year i have replaced the Ipod charging and stereo out lead to the amp with a Bluetooth module behind the console which powers up when i turn the left hand knob the original on off volume knob.
Then 3D printed an insert for the ashtray to fit my phone and potted in a USB C right angle plug at the bottom to make a dock to charge the phone and again powered via the LH knob this was connected to a usb cigarette adaptor, all behind the console.
Phone not central on purpose to get access to turn the key and press starter button.
Can then use Waze and Spotify in the car, did not bother adding a mic for hands free calling in an open topped car.
Will add links for some of the parts if people are interested but unfortunately did not take any photos inside.

Quality usb adapter

Right angle usb cable, right angle connector stuck in place at bottom of phone cut out, with phone in place to set the angle of the connector. Once dried phone removed and potted from underneath with epoxy adhesive. Cable being ribbon design easily curls and straightens if kept in correct plane when opening ash tray.

Cheap amp that fits in radiomobile case with hole cut in back of radio to access phono inputs, screwed through the base of radio to secure in place.

Better ones may now be available which fit. But this is better than the radiomobile mono amp.
Dont have a link for toothed belt and pulleys to control volume on amp via rh knob on radio, but bought from a radio control model shop once you know the pitch between pulleys and dia of shafts to stick them to, used jb weld probably to secure them to shafts.
Also used some wire through the back of the ashtray and choc blocks behind the box it slides in to prevent drawer coming all the way out.
Link for STL file and step file below, but specific to a Google pixel 6A if you remember them, with a case fitted, i bought a spare case so dont need to replace insert in ashtray if i change to a different case. Aim was to set the phone as far forward with slight angle back so it can rest on ignition key or panel.

I could have added a bigger hole and modelled the insert as seperate piece with anled sides inserted from underneath, so just that needs replacing if I change my phone.
