Greetings to all .... new to the E Type UK forum. :D

Always enjoy good conversation about E-Types.

I've owned 3 Jags in my lifetime (so far)

My present one is a '64 FHC that I've owned since 1999.

She's our pride and joy ... we take her on tours and rallies, an occasional "track day', and car shows and concours.

She's no 'trailer queen', just a 'daily driver' with a few "upgrades"

Over the years, I've upgraded the suspension and brakes; added a 5 spd tranny; and 2 years ago converted to EFI and Crank-Fire ignition.

She dyno'd at well over 300hp, but is as docile as a kitten on the road, and gets about 24mpg. What a dream to drive.

It's Winter here in Washington so the big cat stays in the barn. Come mid-Feb hope to wake her up and get her ready for the Spring season.

thanks for your post and letting know you are there !
Spring will come soon ! It was dry weather today in Belgium and the rain from last days has cleaned the salty roads from ther Ardennes where I live, so I lookf forward to tomorrow to have the cat stretching its legs and
roaring again :D

Hope that comes soon for you also.
I saw on the memberlist that you are not alone from the Washington area, Chulk Goolsbee is also around .

Thanks for your reply. Yes, Chuck Goolsbee lives about 100 miles north of me in Arlington, WA. Nice fellow, with a '65 OTS. Haven't seen Chuck for 2 Summers now. Last time was in Bellingham, WA at an E-type get together ... most enjoyable.

It must be beautiful there in the Ardennes. Don't blame you for waiting for the rain to wash away the salt. It's hard enough trying to keep our big cats from rusting away to nothing as it is! Here in WA they use sand and de-icer. Never-the-less, I try to drive when the roads are dry.

We're expecting snow by tonight, and for the next few days. I may try to take her out around noon today for a short run and get some fresh gas. Haven't driven her since October. That was the last Jag Club Rally of rthe year. We had a great time and as luck would have it ... we came in first.

Last year, we entered the Jag in 5 car shows ... the Jag won 1st in class 4 times , and 2 once. Not bad for a 43 YO car with a 20 YO paint job. What knock's their socks off is the engine compartment with the Fuel Injection set-up. It's a thing of beauty.

How long have you owned your E-Type? Do you belong to a Jag Club. or participate in any sportcar activities?

I bought my first Jag in '64. It was a XK120 FHC. Sold it in '71 and bought a '62 E-Type FHC which I sold in '82. In 1998, the Jag bug bit me again, and after a year of searching, I purchased the '64FHC I presently own.

My Oh My ... have things changed over the years ... in 1964 I paid $600 for my XK120. In 1972, I paid $1700 for my first E-Type. 1999, I paid $20,000! They're now selling at three to four times that amount now!

Well, it's coming up to 9am here on the West Coast. I better get a move on if I"m going to get anything done before it starts to snow.

thanks for sharing more about your car.
I purchased mine in 2002. As you will read from my post "hello from
Belgium" it came intially from Toronto, Canada. I have got the car being restored/refreshed (was an old lady) step by step , year by year, while being able to drive it with my wife and two boys (benefit of a 2+2) in several events (except for 13 months it was out for body work repair and new paint in dark blue -was sable initialy).

I am member of the E-Type club and also have frequent look and some posts on the excellent Jag-Lovers forum.
I like to go to see classic car races events (I am fortunate to live 1h from Spa-francorchamps and twice/year there are races including E-Types, XK120 , C-Types etc... nice !!

Hope you could bring the E on the road this WE and enjoyed it !
