Can anyone tell me if the splines on the rear end of s1/s2 torsion bars are the same dimensions as the s3?

Just when I thought I'd heard all the questions before.
Obviously I've not idea what the answer is but hopefully I'll know next time.

Hello Andy
It would appear to be a strange question but I've been trying for some time now to set the pre-load in my s3 torsion bars after front suspension rebuild without any success. The proper way to do this is using a special tool which I do not have nor have I been able to beg/borrow/steal one. After trying numerous suggested methods of doing the job without the tool I decided to make one using two s3 rear reaction brackets only to find after waiting for three weeks for an order to be delivered that they are unobtainable. If the splined rear end of s1/s2 and s3 torsion bars are the same dimensions then it extends the possibility of obtaining brackets which I could use.

I think I'd give RM&J Smith a call and ask him to go and stick a Series 1/2 torsion bar in a Series 3 reaction plate and report back. He'll have the parts to hand.
