#1 Bonnet Chrome Nose trim that doesnt fit

Post by Doddsy333 » Mon Jun 11, 2012 6:50 pm

Can anyone advise how it is possible to shape the top chrome finnisher above the grill (BD39521). I can bend it so it fits the two screw hole on either side, or clip it to the two retaining clips. I just cannot do both. To say it doesnt fit is an understatement. Lots of rants about similar frustrations with other new parts that dont fit but not this one. Will it bend or just destort? Will an alternative supplier have a finnisher that is correctly shaped in which case can anyone please recommend who and I will just have to shell out (again).

Ivan apologies for not replying sooner. I have been working on lots of other jobs. I eventually and very carefully managed to bend the nose trim around the tight radius, by hand around a cylinder. It isnt a great fit but better than it was originally. I still dont understand why these after manufacture parts dont fit. The nose is so important and Im still not satisfied withe the result.
