I got a set of whitewall tyres fitted and balanced when I bought new 61/2 inch wide wheels from sc parts in Crawley. This is for a 63 fhc and they just fit but look fantastic. Give them a call and ask for Neil. He is really helpfull and I think theres a good discount at the moment

Not sure you can buy the original style whitewall tyres in 185VR15 but you could consider the white wall trims which are still marketed as 'Porta-Walls' by Atlas.

Atlas Porta-Walls whitewall inserts: http://www.portawallshop.com/ or http://www.antiquetyres.com.au/taxonomy/term/594
This company in Germany sell something similar and are TUV approved for use in Europe (technically not Canada and the US though): http://www.ravus.de/

"The tire is a bezel trim for the side of the tire, a retrofit accessory with a whole new mounting technology for steel wheels. An innovation that is as simple, easy and quick to install as a hubcap. Even with today's tubeless tires used and accepted in traffic according to traffic regulations. Together with a lower ring of white wall trim ring is externally inserted into the rim flange (WITHOUT vulcanizing or intermediate terminals!). As simple as a wheel cover and without any tools. After that, a wheel trim ring can be mounted to the wall white trim ring is firmly seated (all that goes with the vehicle). Suitable for mounting - with certain conditions - some Vollradkappen. For rims with no hump in the stainless steel bezel with special clips is clipped together in front of the white wall ring with installing a unit. The previous problem of the tire side Herunterscheuerns is eliminated by an additional bottom ring while preventing the passage of these plasticizers and carbon blacks to the white wall trim ring. This itself is made from UV resistant plastic (not rubber or rubber), but must also be maintained. For cleaning requires only common household cleaners. Well ... Interested?? Then please contact us directly."
Sorry about Google translate!
Or the special white wall paint which has become available again after many years absence: http://tinyurl.com/agxjo59

Finally you could try and find a local supplier (check out the Custom car magazines) who can add whitewalls to your existing tyres using a specialist machine. Quite a few companies now offering this service even here in the UK where white walls are relatively unknown. They can do white walls and lettering and can be on the wheel/inflated. e.g.: http://www.mrwhitewalls.com/ and http://www.whitewalltyres.co.nz/services.html
These are 1 1/4" stripes and 2" stripes on wires by MrWhitewalls who are based in Staffordshire:

Price is ?100 set of four 1 1/4" stripe, ?150/4 2" stripe on any make of tyre.

Anybody with an early S1 fancy giving MrWhitewalls a go? The car does look good with them on!

Or even a S2 or S3 with a narrow stripe?

I took a set of narrow stripe on chrome wires OFF my Dark Blue S2 OTS. I might try them again on a V12 one day. They look OK on Series XJ cars with Pepperpot wheels but not on anything sporting. I've got the old style wide whitewalls like that launch E-type on my MkIX in 16". They suit a huge luxo-barge like that, especially in two-tone with acres of chrome.
