Suggest you get yourself a Ctek smart charger and plug it in when you are not using the car. My battery is now 14 years old and I am sure the Ctek has worked miracles on its longevity.

Already got one and neatly installed the plug inplace of rear heater switch on dash! It wouldn't fully charge current battery so hence time to change before I got let down!

For reasons of appearance I'm about to run this AGM-type battery (made by Hawker in the US) hidden away within the shell of my old external-leadwork battery.
http://www.spark-battery.com/spark-900.html
It fits perfectly, leaves enough room beneath the posts for properly-dimensioned internal cabling, and seemed worth a punt since if it doesn't work it will do just fine under the bonnet of the Mini van .................
The lower cranking amps (than the one David suggests) are nevertheless 50% higher than what I had before (according to the battery specialist I use) but the lowly 26Ah might be more of an issue .............
Any advice ?
And does anyone know whether the regulator box settings need tweaking for this kind of technology ?
