#1 Differential problem?

Post by MichaelHiggins » Wed May 22, 2013 3:59 pm

I have just installed the IRS , all went smoothly but when I tried to turn the car one side jammed and just skidded , I didn't get the diff checked as it was running smoothly and there were no obvious sign's of chipped teeth etc. when I inspected inside , it runs nice and smooth just going forwards and backwards!!! am I correct in thinking its all got to come out and the diff overhauled?

Not sure you have explained it well but, if I have understood, you raised the car on one side and put the car in gear with the engine running?

On a normal diff, one wheel will freewheeling, a LSD will provide drive to the wheel on the ground and run it off the jack.

Not sure what work you've done to the IRS prior to reinstalling it, but it could be a brake/handbrake issue.
