Probably just being over cautious but I will be happier when I've had it checked out.
I've got a box full of unused parts on the floor in my garage, that do not fit or are not even close to the original and most of the repro parts I have fitted have required work to get them to a usable standard, so it could just be a case of restoration paranoia. :?

I know how you feel. My restoration paranoia centres on wondering whether I'll ever get a completed bodyshell back from the restorers - 5 years and counting :(

Great news I was worrying over nothing, The sample is leather and good quality. Having had it looked at the conclusion is that being a poor commoner from up north I am not familiar with quality. Having been through the hides he had on the shelf I can confirm that the better the quality the less like leather (as I know it) it gets.
So order going in today. Now just need to find a chrome plating firm that I can trust.

A. C. F. Howell in Walsall comes highly recommended by Richard Smith for plating.
