On the basis that if you don't ask you don't get, I may as well ask, just in case...
I'm flying back to the UK today for Brian Wilkinson's funeral and to spend some time cataloging his workshop contents to help Mary close the business. I shall have the use of Brian's Escort, but on 10,11,12 March I will be seeing people who've never really seen an E-type close up, much less ridden in one. It's not that big of a deal, but if someone, preferably in the Midlands or North had an E with 'any driver with permission' insurance (do they still do that?) and didn't mind their car potentially getting wet over three days, I'd be thrilled to show it off and do a write-up for the Jaguar Journal which I'll be editing from April onwards.
Not a serious request, since the need is not great, but you never know - someone might take pity on and old man in an Escort!

Hmmm, extra distance in an E-type..... I thought they were made for just going down the local pub?
It's the archetypal GT you say? Perfect for criss-crossing the country? Really? :-) I lived five years in Lancing so I know your area well.
Very generous offer Angus. Let me see if the logistics work out. I'll PM you later this weekend.
