#1 Oil Pressure

Post by Aldeburgh » Wed Feb 04, 2009 10:44 am

Once warm my oil pressure dips alarmingly at idle, alomost to zero, but seems pretty good otherwise... 50ish at 2500 and rising as the revs climb. Dip stick showing plently in the system, so why would this be... any ideas?

First suspect is the oil pressure sender which is notoriously unreliable. Worth installing the JEC sender and gauge kit (?75) as it is probably cheaper than considering the other candidates (oil pump, big ends). I did a review of the various options in the Restoration/Upgrades part of the forum: http://etypeuk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=173
