Can anyone tell me the correct gauge of locking wire for the cam sprockets?

I use 40 thou/1mm stainless.

I use for all locking wire 0,80 mm SS wire on a roll. It's the same gauge SNG supplies. You can buy it at any automotive store for a 6-8 euros.
Also use a nice locking wire pliers and make art of your locking wire jobs. There are some nice YouTube vids on the subject.
