#1 Trim screw help please

Post by andrewh » Wed Nov 05, 2014 3:48 pm

Chaps, my car is away at the trimmer and I seem to be missing some chrome trim screws. I wonder whether any kind soul with a 62/3/4 FHC could enlighten me by either photos, descriptions or a supplier for the following.

All to do with the rear fold up parcel shelf, the four slot head countersunk, slightly raised chrome machine screws that hold the flip up luggage stops in place. I think they may be 2 BA but if anyone can tell me length and a supplier in chrome for these I would be very grateful

Also, the long full width chrome capping that fits into the fold up luggage platform is held on with 9 self tap slot head screws but no idea what these look like .

thanks in advance,

Andrew,
The chrome stops which the fold up parcel shelf abutts to (and the slide latches interface with) were held in place with pop rivets on my 65 and 66 FHC. These went from the inside out and clenched the bracket, wheel arch trim and wheel arch together.
As for the screws holding the chrome capping strip in place, these were 0.5in pan head slotted self tappers (not sure of the gauge, but I can check tomorrow if you require).
BTW your car is looking really good and is a credit to you.
Regards
Chris

On the early cars the stops are different ( no buffers) and are held in place by slot screws. Check out the Factory Fit thread as I put the detail there. Out shooting tomorrow but I can check it out on Sunday if that is any help.

Be careful. In Nottingham or Moss Side the pigeons shoot back :-)

Thank you guys. I think I am sorted now as I was able to look at a car nearby. The slot head raised countersunk are 2 BA in chrome and available from Namrick and the self tappers are slot and No 6 I think. Available again from Namrick but in stainless not chrome but will polish up I think.
Much appreciate the feedback and kind words. Car should be home from trimming in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed
