#1 refurb of brake compensator

Post by jrevel » Tue Jan 20, 2015 12:26 pm

Hi, in the process of restoring a series 2 and the brake compensator has seized.

The various halves of the linkage are joined by what appear to be rivets. In order to separate the halves and de-rust / re-plate I will have to drill out these rivets.

Does anyone know where I can get replacement rivets?

Thank you in advance.

Don't do it ! You will never get it back together . I should try the molasses immersion trick ( see another thread within the last few days ) , or failing that, detach the spring and heat the whole thing up which should then free it off with the aid of penetrating oil
