Hi All,

Can someone recommend a decent place in Surrey that I can take my Diff? I don't think it will need a full rebuild but I would just like it checked out and the seals replaced.

Thanks.

You could try Hardy Engineering in Leatherhead. I had my diff seals replaced there four years ago and they did all that I asked for a reasonable price. However in my ownership the diff was never perfectly quiet so I decided two months ago to have it fully rebuild by Alan at AJS Engineering. There is nothing he doesn't know about Jag diffs. His view was that you can't really check over a diff without taking it all to bits and rebuilding it. Having reinstalled it, it is now silent. If your diff is quiet then you might get away with only seal replacement.

Hi Graham,

Wow, that is spooky; I have just found the Hardy Engineering web site after a Google search, and then thought I'd check to see if anyone on the forum knows them, and spotted your reply!!

I've never driven my car, but the previos owner whi had the car for over 20 years said that there were never any rear axle noises, but it did leak a bit.

There are very obvious signs of leakage, but I am more concerned with the Powr-Lok as it seems to be locked solid. I think the breakaway torque should be about 70ftlb but I cant break it with over 200!

Thanks for your reply.

Cheers.
