Congratulations David, and hopefully many more miles and jaunts into Europe to come! Itching to get behind the wheel of an E-Type on the road. (On a completely unrelated note my car passed 54,000 miles in 8 years the other day, only looks about 6 months old!) 50K miles is quite a long way by anyone's standards. With all the upgrades I imagine yours runs like a Swiss watch too.

I bought the car on my 50th birthday and vowed to get it up to 50k miles. Took 15 years but we got there! Not driven it much this year as we have been enjoying the Elan which is fantastic on our increasingly congested roads. Yesterday we did 250 miles in the E-Type but despite carefully selecting our route (mainly B roads) I only saw about 3 minutes of empty, clear and fast roads. The rest was tractors, HGV's, slow cars, 50mph limits and speed camera/unmarked Police car warnings plus the ubiquitous digital 'Your speed =' signs. With my 2.88 diff I rarely got out of third

The car is performing wonderfully though with a luxuriously compliant ride and seemingly limitless power so cruising is not a chore. But once you spot a gap in the traffic ........................>
