#1 Chassis leg sleeves

Post by PaulColeman » Sun Oct 25, 2015 8:13 pm

The rear chassis legs have sleeves in them where the V mounts fix for the IRS. Should every single one of those 8 holes have a sleeve in them?

Thanks, Paul.

Hi Paul,

Almost certainly yes.

Otherwise they would crush when the bolts are tightened.

I've just looked at my bare shell and as stated above, yes they do.

Okay thanks. Mine have one missing on each side in exactly the same location. I couldn't decide if it was meant to be like that or whether they had somehow fallen out. Looks like a tricky repair but do-able.

They are brazed into the steel channel. At least mine were ('68 OTS).
