#1 Anybody got a scrap bulkhead?

Post by PaulColeman » Tue Dec 22, 2015 8:17 pm

Does anybody have a scrap bulkhead - the rougher the better. I need a section to repair my butchered bulkhead. I don't believe anybody makes this particular section and I don't fancy trying to fabricate it.
This is the part I need...

Thanks, Paul.

That's all covered by trim so any repair doesn't need to be perfect.

Yes that's true and if the worst comes to the worst I'll just cut a plate with a hole in it out of 1.6mm steel and weld it in but it would be nice to find a proper replacement panel - long shot I know, but if you don't ask you don't get.
What gets me is the fact that the previous owner butchered this to try and fit an electric aerial. Obviously it's a structural part of the car and he's butchered it to fit a frigging aerial.... noooooooo you moron.

Easy job to make a plate & probably quicker than sourcing a bulkhead. Plus you've got the other side to mirror a template from. The only reason you might want to be fairly accurate is if you want to install speakers there.

Hutsons make complete bulkheads, and so they almost certainly can produce that pressing for you. Ask Andy on 01274 669052

Oh no he won't  I did try him first.

Hutsons sell the entire part at about ?250 so I'll have a go at making one first - should be fun :?
