#1 PM not working

Post by Pim » Sat Jan 16, 2016 2:42 pm

Not sure this is the right place, but I am trying to send a pm and it's not working. I get the "message sent" but it ends up in the outbox, not in sent messages.

Can someone help me out?

Thanks,

Hi Peter.....as far as i know only if they have included email contact in there profile, if you look at the bottom of your post you will see profile and pm indicators where as at the bottom of mine there is also an email one......maybee you could add email to yours for ease of contact...It is difficult relying on the PM function as some people dont notice that they have a message ....would be better if there was a more noticable indicator.......but pm David he may have an answer

If you have not deleted your email address from your profile (some people get paranoid about it but even I can't access email addresses en mass) you should get an email notification although this can be enabled/disabled in your profile:

You will also get a pop-up window when you next visit the Forum saying you have a new message providing you have not activated your Browser pop-up blocker. You can tell the blocker to allow pop-ups from the Forum which will let them through.

At the top of the Forum home page you will also get a notification of the number of PM's waiting to be read: "You have 13 new messages":

Unlike email the PM system works a bit like the old pigeon hole message boxes. You send a PM and it goes into your 'Outbox' where it will remain until the recipient reads it at which point it moves to your 'Sentbox':

Can't really think of anything more I can do except reminding people to check their settings to ensure you are contactable and get notifications:
