Hoping to be able to make the date, but car is in for some upgrades and this may the first weekend back, will see how the timing goes.

Having only owned the car since early 2015 have not been to any meets as yet, could be the first of the season for us.

#102 Bicester Event - E-Types

Post by nickgil » Sun Jan 17, 2016 12:02 pm

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for trying to arrange this.
Sounds great, and only an hours drive for me here in St Albans.
Just had to get my forum account re-activated so I could reply.

Count me in for sure!
Regards, Nick

Hi Andrew,

Looking at the calendar for 2016 I am in the UK in April and will make the trip to Bicester from Norwich. Has the information been released as to where the meet will be in Bicester?
Kind Regards John

John - I think the plan is for it to be at Bicester Heritage - which is at the old airfield. The airfield is reputedly one of the best preserved WW2 RAF bases and is now home to a number of businesses which lean towards aircraft or vehicle preservation - and is also used as a film set from time to time. Guy, can I just remind you , for the sake of housekeeping to copy and paste the last list on this thread and ADD yourself to the list so we know who is coming? Please!

Also I note that Bicester Heritage will not guarantee entry on the day so you need to book/buy your tickets, and for those not sure its worth buying a ticket anyway perhaps.

You will be told where within Bicester we will be parking nearer the time and of course on the day. Anyone not on this list that wants to come can you please add yourself to this list as above.

As I only live down the road, I will be coming; possibly with my wife Sandra, or a friend if she backs out before then.
Unfortunately the E is still under restoration, so I won't be taking it, but I will probably be coming in my Jaguar 340.

excellent news. This is shaping up very well indeed. the ticketing should be open in the next coupe of days, so don't forget to buy your discounted tickets and of course mention the E type forum to collect your discount.

It would nice to put faces to real names and forum names on the day. Maybe name badges are a bit formal, but it would be dissapointing if we came away still not knowing who is who.

Hi All..as per Tonys thoughts.....can i make a suggestion....that as a minimum we all put our name and forum name and possibly where youve come from.. in large letters on a sheet of paper in our windscreen......and the same on some sort of name badge even if its just the paper stick on ones.....it may be naf but just go with it whilst were around our group....peal it off when you go for a wander......i will bring some A4 and sticky notes with me for any one that forgets......any outhersuggestions welcom....PS still cant see a link at Bicester for tickets yet

good idea on the names tags. I was wondering what to do about that. I will chase Bicester about the on line booking if it doesn't appear today or tomorrow Andrew
