HARD TOP: advice required

I am considering trying to find a Hard Top for my 62 OTS. How should I go about this? Is it a good idea? Advice from those who have "been there", "done that" and "got the experience" will be much appreciated.

I would only buy an original hard top - the aftermarket ones (even the new ones now available) are just awful.

Also, be careful you don't damage your paintwork around the top of the rear wings when you bolt it down.

As Angus says be careful of damaging the paintwork. After using it for a few months you will find permanent rub marks where the hardtop flexes against the body. If you are wedded to the idea (and personally I can't see the point) make sure you get one with all the correct chrome as it is unobtainable. A good one will set you back ?2,000 but you may still need to have it stripped if you want to match the body colour. Finally make sure you have somewhere to store it as they are both heavy and a pain to move around.
