Hi Chris......Just to get things clear.....you say the clutch was sliping befor you broke down...can you explain a bit of what exactly happened.. did you hear anything that could have caused the scoring....re the slave return spring..its quite a confusing area but tnere are two types of clutch slave, one has a return spring and one dosnt....but we can go into more detail on that later once were sure you have your clutch all refitted back in......can you post up some photos

Hi Steve. Yes, a few times that afternoon, it struggled to go into gear. And when it happened I changed into 3rd but although the car revved it had no go. When I tried to change gear and release the clutch it howled. I then switched off put it in gear with my foot On the clutch and started up but although it again revved it had No drive. The only way I could get it into gear would be to switch off, put it in gear (any gear) and keep my foot on the clutch. Sorry for the poor explanation!
