#1 S2 tacho, rebuild to electronic tacho

Post by Quattrofrank » Wed Jul 27, 2016 7:02 am

Hi

Is there anyone providing a rebuild/conversion of a s2 tacho to an electronic tacho suitable to EFI with tacho output?
At the same time it would have been great to get the redline from 5-6000 to 6-7000 or even 7500 if that is possible?

Best regards Frank

Frank, this fellow does conversions of the tacho from RVI to RVC and takes the impulse from the coil (he did mine).

Not sure about how you would change the face or redline, except MLBS3V12 has reworked his gauge faces here, whether you could do the same?

Hello and thanks for reply

I dont think the conversion will work since I will use a 3 coil setup and have a tacho output from the ecu giving 3 pulses / rev

With regards to the updating of the face to include new redline, I guess that is a perfect solution given that the tacho will be showing correct rpm afterwards. Thats wy it would be nice to have an expert rebuilding the tacho and calibrating it.
I have of course the option to buy a brand new modern tacho, but I would like to have the original style tacho

Frank, is it worth contacting Spiyda and asking what they could do for your system? They may have a solution?

Every XK engine uses 3 pulses per rev - it's a six cylinder four-stroke...
