#1 New in this forum, from France

Post by Chris77 » Thu Oct 20, 2016 6:14 pm

Hello,

I have a 4.2 l series 1 LHD FHC.
It is matching numbers, imported new in France in 1965, and has a close ratio Jaguar box (I don't know if it was a factory option or a modification by a previous owner).

I bought it 20 years ago, in correct condition. I drove it 10 years, around 60 000 km of real pleasure! Then I began a complete restauration, mainly because of rust. I stripped the car down, sent the engine, box and rear axle to a good mechanic specialized in Jaguar (near Auxerre in Burgondy), and the body to a local shop. And then reassembled all the bits. It took me 10 years...

The car is on the road again, still some details to deal with.

I discovered this forum recently, I hope I will be able to give and get good advices here!

Hello Chris, welcome, I'm also a new member, great forum.
Got any photos to share of your car, I suppose it's a Royal Elisée from new?

Best regards
