#1 Bulkhead diagram with mounting labels

Post by jcarey » Wed Jan 25, 2017 9:57 pm

I posted this on the Jag-Lovers E-type forum and was asked by Steve to post it here. I made this based on a diagram John North created and I found on the Internet while restoring my 1963 Coupe. I expanded on it in an attempt to label every opening and threaded opening in the bulkhead/bodywork and what each is used for. I am sure errors may be present, so please double check my work before committing to anything irreversible. Best regards.

Thanks for posting, one initial observation is that you have the holes used for the brake vacuum pipes (lower ones) labelled as "coolant tubes"

The '???' On the bottom line are for the choke cable grommet on a S1 car blanked off on twin carbs. Not sure the 'rust prevention blanks' are standard.

That's a great piece of work. Is there a version available that could be amended to the later revised bulkhead?

Angus,
Thanks - I'll add the choke cable grommet label to this point of my diagram. I only had one example to work with at the time and it was my 1969 FHC. It's certainly possible these rust proofing plugs were added after the factory shipped it to the Northeastern USA.

John, that's a very useful diagram. Is it possible to get a higher resolution copy?
Maybe David (Heuer) could add that to the knowledge base?

Oh, and as Mark asked earlier, is there a version for the later cars?

Thanks

Speedo cable?
Unless it's labelled differently.

Do the "three holes" on LH and washer bottle on RH alternate for LHD and RHD ?

I have the original file and could make a higher res version for you if you like - but I'd need to send it to you via email I think. I will send a PM asking for your email OK? I don't have one for later version cars.

Heuer,
If you would like to have a high res version for the knowledge base, let me know and we can exchange emails too.
Cheers,
John
