#1 E-type Owner's Manual...real or reprint?

Post by lopena » Wed Feb 15, 2017 10:17 am

Is there a foolproof way of determining if a Series 1 3.8 Manual is an original versus a reprint that has been artificially aged?

Many thanks,

Apologies to all: I just did a search and discovered this is a well-discussed subject on this forum. The key seems to be the printer's name on the last page: originals have "W.W. Curtis Ltd", while reprints show "Brooklands".

There were also some copies printed by Nuffield Press after Jaguar became part of British Leyland.

Were any original manuals bound as paperbacks, or were they all in ring binder folders? The only original ones I have are in folders.

Are you talking about the grey owners manual or the green maintenance workshop book?

I have a few comparison pictures on my website.

You might need to register. Otherwise ask Roger Payne in Australia.

I have all origianl manual sets in my collection at home if you need a help, send me a mail.

Regards

Maikel
