#1 Fettled by Moss Jaguar

Post by Grahame W » Thu May 25, 2017 8:37 pm

I have been a member on here for a year or so and like many just absorbing the wealth of information available. I have owned my 65 FHC for about the same time and through a pre purchase inspection onwards have benefitted from the knowledge and common sense of Angus at Moss Jaguar.
Having just enjoyed a 50 mile drive home from the cars third visit to Angus' workshop I am just delighted by how right the fundamental e type design is once fettled by a knowledgeable and dedicated team.
Jobs have varied from fixing the downright dangerous through 'lets improve this' to the purely cosmetic .
Angus Leon and Murray have carried out all the jobs no matter how small with the same attention to detail that they put into their wonderful full restorations already described in these pages.
With the car feeling so good on my drive home (my other cars are a Boxster S and a Caterham 7 which set a high benchmark) on what has been a delightful summers day I cannot help but reflect on how lucky we are to enjoy such marvellous cars and when needed have the talents of dedicated specialists such as Moss Jaguar to hand

Needless to say I have no connection with the company other than being an absolutely delighted customer

WOW! Thanks Grahame. Didn't expect that. Always nice to get good feedback. I will pass it on to the boys.

I just checked out your web site Angus & watched your video - very impressed by your approach. It must be satisfying to do this kind of work properly in the first place, and doubly satisfying to then be complimented by a customer.
Please don't laugh, but in my fertile imagination, I thought anybody named Angus had to be a crusty old Scot along the lines of Private Fraser. Sorry about that - I stand corrected!
I am new to E Types so I don't know who half these people are who provide services and parts for them.
Do we have a directory anywhere of approved suppliers?

You were right first time Hugo, this is indeed Angus on a good day and that pitchfork comes out for 'complaint resolution' issues:

We don't have an "approved supplier" list as people's expectations and experiences vary so much but there is a list in the Forum KB, although it may be slightly out of date with some dead links: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=884

I can talk, can't I! Never liked my name. At least my father was German (German / Romanian actually).

Angus

Have or are you considering hosting an open day?

Have been meaning to have a chat about the original items - particularly why I sometimes get a graunch when changing down too quickly or forget to double de clutch on your gearbox!

I am actually Richard. Just need to canvas the forum to see how interested people are. We are doing workshop tours this Saturday as the Farm is holding their annual picnic.

Regarding the gearbox, did we rebuild it?
