There is something very satisfying about polished aluminium, isn't there. Even when it's not polished to a mirror finish. I just bought an old Milwaukee Air Tools long block air-sander. It's polished aluminium & just looks like a work of art - a pleasure to hold.

I remover the new polished cam covers well, because it was my job to keep them like that as a young boy! Father had a new Jaguar every year, and after 5000 miles it would be chopped in for a new one. They were highly polished, but not to the extreme finish you can get from the likes of Eagle or CMC. Same as the carb dash pots. I used chrome cleaner and some cotton waste to polish them once a month. I cant ever remember seeing any imperfections, so the finish was consistent. We thought the S2 cam covers were a great improvement when they came out! Fashion is all that it is. But I still had to polish those once a month, and of course the dash pots.
