One great thing that the JEC do which the other clubs are less good at is the seminars, usually held at Jaguar's at Castle Bromwich on a Saturday. These cover a wide range of topics , and are invaluable if you want to get a good practical grasp of repair, maintenance and rebuilding, trimming, minor paint repairs etc
The E type club also runs a once a year visit to CMC at Bridgnorth where again you can get first class practical advice and demonstrations
Both these clubs are very worthwhile
