#1 Series 1.5 - side / head light rocker switch connections

Post by martin gale » Fri Apr 30, 2010 1:23 pm

Can anyone help please?

1968 Series 1.5 DHC

I am replacing the side and head light rocker switches which have 4 terminals on each switch. There are various loose wire terminal connectors behind the instrument panel and I do not know which terminal connectors attach to which switch terminals.

Wire terminal connectors are coloured:

1. Brown - single wire
2. Brown - double wire connection
3. Blue - single wire
4. Red and Black - single wire

Thank you
Martin Gale

Martin : just in case you are not familiar with wiring diagrams

The red goes to terminal 3 on the sidelight switch, and the single brown to terminal 4 on it

The blue goes to terminal 3 on the headlamp part of the switch, and the double brown to terminal 4

Sorry if this is teaching grandmother to suck eggs

Hi,

1968 series 1.5 with rocker switches?
I wonder when they changed?
My book shows them coming in with series II.

Nick.

No, the earlier S1.5 ( really there was no such model) had the tumbler switches as for S1, but later in 1968 the rocker switches began to appear, along with the recessed choke etc controls

David / Christopher

Many thanks for your help with the electrics chart and info - much appreciated.
This was my first visit to the Forum and I am impressed with the whole set up.

Martin
