Hi John...As for the 123 tune a friend has this running on his S1 4.2

Hello Mark, the curve you have posted from a friend. To me this looks far too advanced ? They are crankshaft degrees, so if you add the static of say 10, then it is going to be 45. Has he looked with a strobe light ?
If I am wrong, then I have totally misunderstood how to set up the curves on the 123 tune.

Tom, the original manual distributor diagram, is exactly the same in the Haynes manual. Haynes just copied it.

Hi John...Im assuming you meant me not Mark...I posted the 123 map....well it depends how you initially set the 123....the map above is used with the 123 initially set at TDC.....this is so everything is done on the 123 program..the figures you see are what you have...you dont need to start adding extra becaus you set the 123 up at eg 10btdc....Steve

John,
refering to your post#15- yes, it works very well - easy starting, smooth idle, no audible pinging with 95 leadfree. Smooth on overrun. Following this thread I am tempted to try a more aggressive curve.
