As stated by a senior Rolls Royce engineer to a disgruntled American owner when he complained about oil weeping from the engine.

Hi Geoff...yes but that's what a correctly fitted rope seal does...and it dosnt cost £300 for the seal and around £300 odd to have the crank groung to fit....Steve

Ok Steve, so long as you promise to visit and correctly fit the rope seal for me :lol:

The alternate is that Rory will do all the work of fitting this new wonderful seal for me :wink:

Typically a leak at the rear is the rear sump seal...which does need care when fitting...Steve

Chris in post 19 above said Fitted one in March 2023. 3000 miles since fitting and just get the occassional drop on the garage floor. :shrug:
