I’ve had Vreds for six years and seen no problems and certainly nothing like this highlighted at an MOT

Ditto. Done 2k miles on mine and no issues. Those threads on pistonheads were from a fair few years ago and they have release the new ‘v’ rated tyres since then.

I am imminently changing my old 205 Bridgestones for 185's and will be paying Dougal a visit later this month. After much thought and budget consideration of all 185 options mentioned I have decided to go for the Pirrelli for their better performance and as these are what Jaguar Classic fit to the E type S1 heritage restorations, that is good enough for me.

I use Blockley tires, they are v rated ( bought at Techno classica essen )

I had the Vredesteins for 10 years (about 15,000 miles) and was happy with them. Recently replaced them with a new set due to age. The new tires are V rated.

I would think an independent tire test would be interesting. Though there isn't one that i know of for an e-type thers is one that covers the bases
