I have recently had the windscreen replaced on my Series 2 and there is a gap in the rubber sealant at the top of the A post. It's not very clear from the attached photo, but it's between the actual roof and the chrome trim. I assume this is a rain water channel that runs behind the pillar and discharges at the bottom of the pillar or should this be sealed completely?

Hi Andy...it is a drain hole.....this only came up a few months ago on the forum....try pushing a thin wire down it to make sure its clear...i think it will come out at the bottom of the chrome covering the A post.... Steve

Which glue did you use to attach it ?
I thought about Sikaflex 221, as on the bonnet, but then, if I ever want to remove them again from the car, only a nuclear attack could get it off I believe.
Originally, I found a tar-ish substance, still gooey after 50+ yrs.

It was done under an Insurance claim at National Windscreens in U.K. It looks and feels like a rubber type Sikaflex compound. I've had no trouble with it since it was fitted about 18 months ago.
