Hi Harry, Heuer,
I found this website after Clive mentioned UK oriented E-type forums over on jag-lovers. It's a very nice forum, with many useful/informative posts.
I just purchased a series 1, 2+2 (1967, opalescent silver blue, 1 owner since 1968, 57k miles, overall a fair driver-level car). I would have preferred a 1966 model, but I was just happy to find one that doesn't need a ground up restoration.
I visited UK for the 1st time last summer for a vintage car vacation, staying near the historic dockyards in Chatham. I enjoyed myself so much I plan to repeat the experience every year (in the UK). I hope someday we'll have a chance to meet (maybe at Stoneleigh?).

Welcome John!
Sounds as though you made the right choice in buying a driver. Might as as well get the fun out of it straight away. Stoneleigh can be a good placed to look for parts although original bits are getting harder to find and bargains harder still.

Welcome to the forum John.
It would be good if you could keep us updated with some pictures.
