The forum seems to be quieter than normal over the past few days though there’s no risk of catching anything (except a loss of sense of humour) so it seems time to quote Churchill and say:
KBO

With people self isolating in their garages they can get on with tasks that had been put to one side for lack of time. Take photos of the work you’re doing, post reports, tell us some anecdotes, even bad jokes will be allowed.

There will be some going through awful times, financial difficulty, rows with their better halves (will the divorce rate soar ) but that is where hiding in the garage and getting some work done on your precious cars will help.

Wishing everyone who helps make this forum the excellent, friendly, helpful place it is all the very best to get through this and come out of the other side healthy, in good humour and with heads held high. Phone a mate or two and have a chat about cars, little problems you need a metaphorical helping hand with or just a general cheer me up please.

As a teacher in enforced self-isolation I couldn't agree more!

I'm teaching lessons remotely to my classes who seem to be taking it all in their stride.

That said, I have been searching a little more frequently for my dream project! Thanks as ever to the Forum for educating me in all things E-Type related in these strange, unprecedented times.

Again showing my ignorance, but what is "KBO"?

I’m afraid to say I had to google KBO, but now I know! Every days a school day!

We are working split shifts, so I thought I’d pootle in on my old ‘67 Triumph TR6 (2 wheels). A mile away it started spluttering, I turned on reserve, still spluttering. I stopped, as did a helpful chap from work who gave me a hand. Found that the slide had nipped up in the carb, leaving the needle up with it. I then pulled my back whilst leaning over the thing! Limped into work, took the carb apart, fixed it to find the battery dead! Whooppee! Got a jump pack on it, still nothing. The work vans out along with most other people. Finally managed to catch up with my new best mate with a van who said he’ll run us both home, phew! Classic British motoring is wonderful when it’s working but infuriating when it isn’t! You do seem to meet the nicest people though! Never mind, my real ale and whisky stores are well stocked!

Maximise your time if you’re away from work etc. There will always be a job to do! Stay healthy everyone, our vehicles need us!!

Absolutely Geoff,

Taking advantage of the lovely sunshine today I donned my full face respirator and latex gloves not to go and buy loo roll but to spray my heater box. At this rate there will be very little for Angus to do to it in 12 weeks time.
