Coolant leak

62 S1 3.8-Have a couple of weeping leaks at the head/block joint on the intake side. Does not appear to be the intakes to head.

Weeps enough to make it to the pan and blow around a little. Noted some slight deposits over time but since a couple of coolant changes in the last year or so for a new pump and then a radiator pull it has increased, want to stop it.

I'll try a retorque of the head first and recheck the situation once running again, doing a rear pan seal right now.

I see references here and other forums to Bars Leaks for this type of leak. They have so many products does anyone have a reference for the preferred product?

Hi Layne...this is the standard old school type bars leaks iv used numerous times over the years on old classics

OK, thanks. I'll check the auto parts stores. Amazon shows it "unavailable in my area due to high demand". Hmmm. Bottle looks different that what's avail on Bars Leaks site, maybe changed to a new bottle...I'll check with them Monday. If they're open!

A word of warning against barsleaks. My experience with old Brit cars is that it can’t tell the difference between a small leak and the furred up waterways in a well used radiator. It blocks them all.

I’d steer clear and deal with the leak properly, even if that means taking the head off.

Thanks. Going to borrow a pressure check tool and see just what I have going on. Try to retorque the head, and consider pulling it and using a cometic gasket which I hear good things about, I think.

Got the pan off now to fix what I hope is a rear pan seal leak and will compete that and proceed. The more I work on it the more leaks I find!
Please God, stop finding leak.
