Hi,
Updating my oil pressure gauge to a mechanical one and wondered about getting the combined oil pressure/water temp gauge as it has a more detailed reading which provides a spare space for another instrument.
Thinking of an oil temp gauge and wonder if anyone fitted an oil temp gauge to a 4.2?
If so is it a simple job or is it not worth the hassle.
Best wishes,
Nigel.

#2 Re: OIL TEMPERATURE GAUGE
Hi I have an oil temp gauge , when I made my dash and loom I decided to fit a more informative oil temp guage than the gauge that tells me if my alternator is charging or not . I now have a charge light for that . I fitted the sender for the oil temp into the the oil gallery by removing one of the plugs and fitting an adaptor into the oil gallery . I also fitted an oil light sender into one of the gallery orifices too so I now have a wet oil oil pressure gauge , an oil oil temp , and an oil pressure lamp , Regards cautious Darren of Orpington .
And no it's not to much hassle to fit

The highest I've seen the oil temp after some fast motorway use on a hot day is 80 degrees . Normal driving is 50 . I do have an oil cooler . I'm thinking about moving the temp sender to the sump plus
