Here is a short introduction of me and my cars. I'm a teacher and private engineer in Austria and an entusiast of british cars for decades. I'm driving a Derby Phantom and two beatyful Jaguars. My technical focus is mainly on the Royce. The E-type is a late S1
and the XK120 a 52.

Martin, welcome to the forum, by far the best place for all things E Type.
Ask questions, offer advice and share experiences and photos of driving in your beautiful, scenic countryside.
Tell us more about your cars, do maintain them yourself? Have you rebuilt them or bought them in the good condition they are?
Geoff

Well, an XK120 and a S1 E Type, in the alps, life surely can’t get much better!
Beautiful cars! Welcome.

Hi,
thank you all for your welcome posts. Yes, I maintain the cats myself, do restauration work if necessary myself. Both, the XK120 and the E-Type came from USA and were restored between 1980 and 1990 in Europe. When I bought them, they were not in driving conditions, due to endless standing and ignoring. I had to overhaul many mechanical parts. (steering, suspension, carbs, breaking system,…) Body work is not my personal strength
but not urgently necessary. Now I have two very nice drivers. The E-Type took my wife and me 2000 km cross the alps without no problems at all. Over the winter I will build up a c-type engine for the XK. But to come back to your question of restauration work. This I do mainly with the Derby Lady.
Greetings Martin
